What Browser Use is
Browser Use provides Python and CLI tools for building browser agents, with optional hosted services. A browser agent can inspect a website and use controls to complete a task. The library supplies browser integration; the model and application still determine what task to pursue and how to judge completion.
This can help when a website has no suitable API, but it is not a guarantee of reliable automation. Websites change, sessions expire and pages can contain misleading instructions. A browser workflow needs observation and verification, not just a saved sequence of actions.
Read the official documentationHow it fits into a workflow
An illustrative test uses a harmless search or draft task on a site you are authorized to use. Give the agent a precise output and stop condition, then inspect the resulting page state. Before extending it to real accounts, check how credentials, approvals and failures are handled by the complete application.
Examples described as illustrative or proposed trials are editorial suggestions. Documented real builds, when available, are linked separately below.
Requirements, cost and limitations
Choose a local, self-hosted or hosted arrangement and a compatible model. The library has MIT terms; hosted products and model services have separate terms and charges. A local browser does not mean the model or all supporting services process data locally.
Check current access and pricingWhen to choose it and what to compare
Consider Browser Use for an application that genuinely needs visual website interaction. Use an API where it supplies the required action more directly. Compare Playwright MCP or command-line tooling according to the integration your agent supports, not an assumed universal browser-agent ranking.
