What Perplexity is
Perplexity combines web search with an AI-written answer and links to supporting pages. It can be a useful starting point when you need to find material on an unfamiliar topic. The answer is a synthesis of sources, not a replacement for reading the original evidence.
The presence of a citation makes a claim easier to investigate, but does not by itself prove that the source supports the sentence. A page may be outdated, incomplete or describing a different situation. Follow the links that matter to the decision you are making.
