Writing a sourced protocol report with DeerFlow

The DeerFlow 1.x repository contains a generated report explaining Google's Agent2Agent protocol and its relationship to MCP.

THE ACTUAL IMPLEMENTATION

What they built.

The preserved DeerFlow 1.x branch contains the A2A report itself, including its explanation and source links. That gives readers a concrete artifact to inspect, beyond a feature list or a claim that a research agent could produce something similar.

The report also illustrates why provenance matters when software changes quickly. Current DeerFlow is a rewritten 2.x system, so the older output belongs to its historical context. The artifact does not retain an exact prompt, model choice or complete execution record.

Published output

The actual report text was inspected. Architecture is documented separately; exact runtime settings are unknown.

How the tools work together

The historical architecture separates planning, information gathering and report assembly. The public file demonstrates the form of the resulting report, while the architecture explains the intended roles. It does not prove which tools or settings were used for every sentence in this particular output.

Workflow at a glance

  1. Frame the research topic

The published output concerns Google's A2A protocol and its relationship to MCP.

  2. Use the documented research pipeline

The 1.x architecture includes planning, research and reporting roles; the report does not include an execution trace.

  3. Publish the report

The Markdown artifact remains in the official 1.x branch with source links.

How you could adapt the idea

Use the report as a reading exercise: choose several claims, open their cited sources, and check whether the wording preserves important qualifications. For a new run, retain the prompt, configuration, source list and output together so future readers can distinguish current results from historical examples.

Effort, cost and limitations

Effort
Reading the report requires no setup; reproducing it needs the historical application and configured services.
Cost
Not disclosed for this report.

Historical 1.x output does not demonstrate the rewritten 2.x harness.

The report's technical claims and citations need their own current review before reuse.
