What Hugging Face Hub is
Hugging Face Hub is a platform for sharing and discovering model and dataset repositories. A model repository contains versioned files and usually a model card describing intended use, setup and limitations. Spaces are hosted demonstrations or applications that let people present machine-learning work.
The Hub is a place to investigate an AI component, not one universal model or a guarantee that every uploaded project has been reviewed. A repository may be an original release, a converted model or a community derivative. Read the actual card and license before deciding how to use it.
Read the official documentationHow it fits into a workflow
Find a repository relevant to the task, inspect its model card and examples, and check which runtime supports its files. A demo can help you understand the interaction, but it does not establish how the model will behave on your own data. Keep the exact repository and revision when reproducibility matters.
Examples described as illustrative or proposed trials are editorial suggestions. Documented real builds, when available, are linked separately below.
Requirements, cost and limitations
Some repositories require accepting access conditions, and running downloaded files requires compatible software and hardware. Presence on the Hub does not guarantee that downloaded code is safe. Compute, private collaboration and hosted inference have separate service limits and costs. The directory's download counts are provider-counted file requests, not distinct people using a model.
Check current access and pricingWhen to choose it and what to compare
Use the Hub to discover and inspect downloadable components and their documentation. Keep its trending and download-order views separate from commercial assistant comparisons: they describe different populations and cannot establish which cloud product is most widely used.
